In a thrilling start to the Stanley Cup Final, the Florida Panthers shut out the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 in Game 1 at Rogers Arena. Sergei Bobrovsky made 32 saves for the Panthers, while the Oilers failed to convert on three power plays.
The Panthers took the lead early in the second period when Sam Reinhart scored on a feed from Aleksander Barkov. They doubled their advantage later in the period on a goal by Carter Verhaeghe.
The Oilers pushed hard in the third period, but Bobrovsky stood tall, making several key saves. The Panthers sealed the victory with an empty-net goal by Anthony Duclair with just over two minutes remaining.
